DAYTONDISTANCE
Running Hall of Fame
2013 Inductees
Meet the Dayton Distance Running Hall of Fame's Class of 2013: Sarah Glendenning, Don "Punky" Mills, and Tom Quigley.
Sarah was widely considered one of the best female distance runners in Ohio for approximately a decade (1986-1996) during her time running with the Bob Schul Racing Team. She won numerous local and regional races during that time period. More recently, she returned to racing as a master and is once again winning races, including being first female master finisher at the Dayton River Corridor Classic (1:35:39) in 2011.
Tom began running in grade school and quickly began to win races becoming a CYO champion at several distances on the track. He ran both cross country and track at Chaminade Julienne High School twice earning All-State honors in cross country (1976,1977). Tom was inducted into the CJ Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008.
We honor Punky posthumously. He passed on in 2012. His loving wife Pam helped us compile some of the highlights of his more than thirty years of running and racing.
