Paul Krebs

Paul had an outstanding career as a college track and cross country runner at Miami University (Ohio), which was preceded by an outstanding high school career at Alter HS in Kettering. Paul has continued to excel at road racing post college. Being an elite caliber runner is only one of Paul’s run related accomplishments. Paul has had success as a coach and as a physician with special emphasis on serving the running community.
Runner
While at Alter HS (2002-2006) Paul made his mark in both track and cross country. Paul won the very competitive All-Ohio Catholic XC Championship race in both his junior and senior years (2004, 2005). He ran in the prestigious Foot Locker XC Championships twice and had a 25th place finish in his senior year. Other highlights include: D2 Ohio State XC Championships (2nd place - 2003 and 2005, 3rd place - 2004); D2 Ohio State Track Championships in the 3200m (2nd place - 2004, 3rd place - 2006); and a state championship title finishing 1st in the OATCCC Indoor State Championship 3200m D2/3.
While at Miami University, Ohio (2006-2010) Paul was the Scholar Athlete of the Year 2010; All-Ohio 10K Champion (track) 2008; team captain his senior year in both XC and track 2009/2010; Academic All-Mid American Conference XC 2007-2009.
Paul’s racing accomplishments post college is quite impressive. A full list of the races Paul has been the overall winner will not fit here, so here is just a partial list: The 45th Dayton River Corridor Classic half-marathon, Holiday at Home 10k, ORRRC Lou Cox 5K, ORRRC Ghost N Goblin 5K (7 times), ORRRC Turkey Trot (6 times), and the USATF National Masters Indoor Championship 3200m in the 35-39 Age group (2023).

Coach
As an assistant XC and track coach for Alter HS (2010-2014), Paul helped coach the XC and track teams qualify for State multiple times, including two State Championship 4x800m relay teams … all this while he was attending medical college.
Contributor
Paul has served as the team physician for Wright State University and for local high schools, providing medical coverage for XC and track. He has been the physician on call at multiple conference meets and OHSAA district and regional meets. Paul currently works as a sports medicine physician at Premier Health and is the lead physician for the Running Medicine and Performance Program there.
