With more than 20 marathons completed, Mitzi has run London, Toronto, Ottawa, Boston, and Pikes Peak. She won the Columbus marathon 40-44 age group in 1982 and was the Overall Female winner of the ORRRC marathon that same year. In 1994 she was the Female Masters winner at the Athens (Ohio) marathon.

Mitzi has completed 15 JFK 50-Mile ultra-marathons, two Ice Age 50-Milers, and the Lake Waramaug 50-miler where she won her age group. In 1991, she was the Female Senior Master division winner at the Ice Age 50. In 1982 she was the only female finisher in the Laural Highlands 70-mile Ultra Trail race. In 1983, she was selected to be a member of the Minute Maid Women’s Marathon Relay team that ran from Central Park in New York City to Colorado Springs, Colorado to promote women's long distance running. In addition to running each day (for a month), the team members gave “running” clinics in the evening at that day’s destination.

Mitzi has acted as Race Director or Assistant Race director with her husband, Bob, for numerous ORRRC races during the 1980’s and early 1990’s. She continues to volunteer her services to the ORRRC.
